Structure cards are fabulous flash cards used for teaching word and sentence structure, sound or letter blends, and many other integral language arts concepts and skills. Strengthen your children's letter recognition, as well as their ability to properly pronounce and construct full words and sentences with the use of these bright and attractive structure cards. It doesn't matter what skill needs to be taught or strengthened because structure cards a fun and easy to use for everybody. Simply write one half of the word, phoneme blend, or sentence on one half of the structure card, and the other half onto the opposite interlocking piece. Demonstrate to children how the words, sounds or sentence fragments go together, and then let kids take a turn at this fun and educational learning experience. Take for example, the word C-A-T. To use your structure cards when teaching the word cat, you can write C on one piece of the structure card pair, and A-T on the other piece. Putting the two interlocking pieces together, you can now slowly pronounce the word cat, sounding out each letter sound individually, and then showing children how the sounds blend together to create the whole word CAT. You can then take the cards apart and give students a turn at sounding out and blending the C-A-T sounds into a coherent word CAT.
